Mission Statement The purpose of the Quassaick Creek Estuary Preserve and Trail is to recognize and communicate the importance of the history and ecology of the Quassaick Creek; to preserve and restore these resources; to provide recreational and educational opportunities for all of the people of its neighboring communities and to make this area a better place to live. Vision Despite 150 years of industrial development and another 50 years of neglect, nature has begun to reclaim the estuary of the Quassaick Creek. The Preserve is envisioned as a place where a unique historical balance between the natural and the manmade will be protected and made available to the public. The trail along the Creek will be an educational, interpretive route that will enable visitors to experience this unique estuarine environment. Descriptive markers will describe the industrial history of the area.
